1. The quality review will be on Monday, May 12th, and Tuesday, May 13th.
2. There is a staff meeting on Monday after school. We will be going over the schedule and other logistics for the quality review and conducting an SBO vote for the duty periods, the 37.5 minutes scheduled time, and potential new format for professional development.
3. Dr. Izquierdo and Mr. Epstein will be visiting our school on Monday, May 5th.
4. There is an SLT Meeting on Monday at 9:45 and an additional one at 4:00pm.
5. The school-wide disciplinary meeting will be held on Thursday after school in room 433. The following week it is tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 12th.
6. We will continue with reviewing teacher videos during the professional development meetings.
7. Construction on the playground has begun. Please note that the fire exits will remain the same. Make sure students are properly directed in case of a fire or any other type of emergency.
8. Thank you to Dr. Phelps for helping out Mr. Young and Will on Friday with the discipline. She did a tremendous job.
9. Thank you to Ms. Calvet for organizing the Science Written Exam. The day went as smooth as possible. Great Work!
10. Thank you to Ms. DeJesus for proctoring the science make-up tests. You did a wonderful job.
11. Thank you to Ms. Stephens and Ms. Dion for helping out with the tone of the fourth floor this week. Your efforts went a long way.
12. Thank you to Ms. Levene and Mr. Seeram for organizing the science practicum. Your enthusiasm and passion for the students to do well is evident in everything you do. You are true shapers of a productive culture. The students were confident and well prepared. Thank you to the rest of the science department for assisting in the set up.
13. Thank you to Ms. Schenk, Ms. Mayers, Ms. Luong, and Mr. Schultz for setting up their field trips this week. The student feedback was extremely positive. It is quite clear they will not forget those experiences. Thank you to the staff who assisted in chaperoning and staying with the students who remained at school.
14. Thank you to Ms. Vargas and Ms. Mayers in supporting the interview process. They have been asking very powerful questions. I am confident the people hired will be thoroughly selected.
15. Any students going on a class trip must be in dress code or they should not be permitted to go.
16. We have several interviews set up for potential positions for next year. If you are interested in participating in the selection process, please see me or e-mail.
17. Congratulations to everyone! We finished the month with 90.6% attendance. Hooray!
18. Any students out of dress code should be recorded in the binder. Please let them know they will be required to attend detention after school.
19. The progress reports will be available starting on Friday. They will be due on Thursday, May 15th. They will be located in Ms. Calvet's office (all three grades).
20. Congratulations to Ms. Calvet as she has announced her retirement for June. Her hard work and dedication will never be forgotten!
