1. The quality review will be on Monday, May 12th, and Tuesday, May 13th.
2. There will be a brunch on Monday to celebrate Mother’s Day with our parents. It begins at 11am.
3. We will continue with reviewing teacher videos during the professional development meetings.
4. Construction on the playground has begun. Please note that the fire exits will remain the same. Make sure students are properly directed in case of a fire or any other type of emergency.
5. Thank you to Mr. Schultz for organizing a field trip to the Museum of Natural History for some of our 7th graders. Thank you to the teachers that helped chaperone the event.
6. Thank you to Mr. Ciano and Ms. Schenk for organizing and chaperoning the field trip to the Liberty game on Thursday. It was a great opportunity to reward the students who have been doing the right thing all year.
7. Thank you to Mr. Allen for organizing the reward trip for 820 for their great attendance. Thank you to Ms. Markopoulos and Ms. Diaz for chaperoning as well.
8. Thank you to Mr. Seeram and Ms. Negron for organizing our Recycling Day. Thank you to the science teachers who were able to participate.
9. Thanks to Ms. Calvet, Ms. McKinley, and all other staff who were able to give up some of their time to help us get ready for the Quality Review.
10. There are tickets available for Thursday this week for students to watch a Mets game and participate in a weather lesson hosted at Shea Stadium. Please let me know if you would like to help organize or chaperone.
11. A continued thank you to Ms. Vargas and Ms. Mayers in supporting the interview process. They have been asking very powerful questions. I am confident the people hired will be thoroughly selected.
12. Any students going on a class trip must be in dress code or they should not be permitted to go.
13. We have several interviews set up for potential positions for next year. If you are interested in participating in the selection process, please see me or e-mail.
14. We will continue to pick up students during last period who are out of dress code during the day. If any students are missed, please let a director know.
15. Progress reports are available in room 308. They need to be completed by Thursday, May 15th.
16. Thank you to the 8th grade teachers who helped in allowing administration and teachers to meet with students to discuss their report cards and develop a plan to graduate and move on to the 9th grade.
17. To honor our staff this week, the school will be providing lunch on Wednesday during the grade teams (all counseling staff, paraprofessionals, school aides, and community staff are encouraged to stop by and have some food) and breakfast on Friday starting at 7:30 in the faculty lounge.
18. Thanks to Mr. Foley and Ms. Willis for doing an incredible job coaching the boys' basketball team.
