1. Progress Reports need to be finished by May 20th at 12pm. Please let us know if that is going to be an issue before the close of the 19th.
2. The 8th grade Social Studies Test will be on June 3rd and 4th.
3. We will continue with reviewing teacher videos during the professional development meetings.
4. Construction on the playground will continue until September. Please note that the fire exits will remain the same. Make sure students are properly directed in case of a fire or any other type of emergency.
5. Thank you to Ms. Terri for organizing the Career Day. It was a great success. I also want to thank the people who participating in the organization and preparation. Thank you Mr. Ciano, Ms. Luong, Ms. Lee, Ms. Emmanuel, Ms. Baitz-Unger, Ms. Vega, Dr. Schultz, and the other teachers who helped in recruiting people to be participants.
6. Thank you to Mr. Allen and Ms. Markopoulos for organizing the Mets trip. Although the Mets lost, it was a very rewarding trip. The students had a great time and they represented the school well.
7. Thank you to Ms. Perez for organizing the 6th grade trip to the Museum of Natural History. The feedback from the children and chaperones was very positive.
8. Thanks to Ms. Calvet, Ms. McKinley, and all other staff who were able to give up some of their time to help us get ready for the Quality Review.
9. We have several interviews set up for potential positions for next year. If you are interested in participating in the selection process, please see me or e-mail.
10. We will continue to pick up students during last period who are out of dress code during the day. If any students are missed, please let a director know.
11. The grade team meetings and professional development periods will be used to begin preparing our CEP and preparing for next year starting next week.
12. Any teachers interested in teaching summer school, we will have the following programs at our school: 6th grade summer school, 7th grade summer school, 8th grade summer school, 7th grade science summer school, 7th grade social studies summer school, and specialized school preparation for next year’s 7th and 8th graders.
13. Please make sure all valuables and electronic equipment is locked up before the weekend.
14. Thank you to Ms. Levene, Mr. Seeram, Mr. Rej, Ms. Chmielewski, Ms. McKinley, Ms. DeJesus, and Ms. Perez for grading the science written test.
15. Please submit nominees for the HonorMe awards as soon as possible. They are due next week.
16. There will be a meeting this Wednesday to finalize the logistics for the potential Medical Center.
17. Instructional Cabinet will be on Tuesday this week during 2nd and 3rd periods.
