Announcements on 5/26/08

1. We will begin the CEP process on Thursday during our grade team meetings.
2. The 8th grade Social Studies Test will be on June 3rd and 4th.
3. Professional Development periods will be used to plan for next school year and writing the CEP.
4. Construction on the playground will continue until September. Please note that the fire exits will remain the same. Make sure students are properly directed in case of a fire or any other type of emergency.
5. Thank you to the 6th grade teachers who helped organize and chaperone a trip on Friday, the 23rd of May.
6. There is a vacancy for next year for the Assistant Principal's position. We will be accepting applications as soon as the details are sent out. This information will be sent to your e-mail accounts. Please keep an eye out for the information. A selection committee will be put together made up of constituents representing the community. They will decide on the person who will represent our school in the C30 process.
7. There is a half day on June 2nd for students. It will be used for September planning and CEP writing. Please reiterate the importance of the students attending school. The half day counts as a whole day's absence.
8. We have several interviews set up for potential positions for next year. If you are interested in participating in the selection process, please see me or e-mail.
9. There is no school for students on the 5th of June. The day will be used for September planning and CEP writing.
10. Any teachers interested in teaching summer school, we will have the following programs at our school: 6th grade summer school, 7th grade summer school, 8th grade summer school, 7th grade science summer school, 7th grade social studies summer school, and specialized school preparation for next year’s 7th and 8th graders.

12. Our state visit was cancelled next week and is rescheduled on the 3rd of June.
