1. There is a half day for students on June 2nd, June 12th, and June 26th. There is no school for students on June 5th. All this time will be used to develop the CEP and plan for next year.
2. The 8th grade Social Studies Test will be on June 3rd and 4th. The 6th and 7th grade students will be taking placement tests for next year.
3. Construction on the playground will continue until September. Please note that the fire exits will remain the same. Make sure students are properly directed in case of a fire or any other type of emergency.
4. Please prepare to turn in your laptops from June 20th to June 24th.
5. School programs and rooms for next year will be given out during the week of June 16th to June 20th.
6. Thank you to Ms. Mayers and the 6th grade teachers for organizing the trip to see a play last week. The students loved it!
7. The grade team meetings on Wednesday will be devoted to developing the list of students being held over, going to summer school, or moving on to the next grade.
8. Please arrive on time to pick up your students from the lunch room. The elementary school has been held up several times last week.
9. Any teachers interested in teaching summer school, we will have the following programs at our school: 6th grade summer school, 7th grade summer school, 8th grade summer school, 7th grade science summer school, 7th grade social studies summer school, and specialized school preparation for next year’s 7th and 8th graders.
10. Anyone who is interested in applying for the assistant principal position for next year, please check your e-mail for the application process. It was sent out on Friday, May 30th.
11. The 8th grade graduation will be on the 16th of June at 2pm at Riverbank State Park (same venue as the past three years). A schedule of departure will be developed next week. The ceremony will only be open to 8th grade staff unless your schedule permits your attendance.
12. The 8th grade prom will be on the 16th of June from 6:30 to 9:30. Volunteers for chaperoning would be greatly appreciated. The 8th grade trip will be on June 20th. The students will be going to Holiday Hills in Connecticut.
13. End of the year papers will be handed out beginning on June 9th. They will need to be returned before 3pm on June 26th.
14. The state will be visiting on Tuesday, June 3rd to review the progress we are making with the CEP.
